Good First AK? | A Buyers Guide
Nothing wrong with a used, quality AK as well, as long as it hasnt been butchered or horridly abused. I dont believe Wasrs are worth the current asking price, but they are solid rifles after a quick 20 minute once-over with a file set and a baked rattlecan refinish. Super Safety Issues | AK Rifles
Don’t worry pard. This is but a the first of many issues you will likely face with the Super Safety. Because of the extreme amount of differences among AK’s, the SS needs to be custom fit to each individual rifle for the most part. Before asking questions, I’d recommend researching high & low. 1988 Iraqi Tabuk from Iraq | AK Rifles
Here is another Gulf War capture. A fairly nice condition Iraqi Tabuk made AK with a painted rack number on the stock. Appeared to be all matching but it was missing its bolt when I field stripped it. Basically a worse Yugo, but with a lot of provenance.
Tapco G2 vs regular trigger? - AK Rifles
As stated above, unless the AK is a preban, the "original" fire control group in the rifle is US-made. I bought a used SAR-1 (1999 production) about a decade ago that ended up having trigger slap, and I subsequently replaced the fire control group with the Tapco G2.
SDM - "new" Chinese AK - AK Rifles
The Chinese AK variants that did make it into the USA are of very high quality, and I would suspect the new rifles that you can buy would also be of very good quality. I wish we in the land of "shall not be infringed" could buy those!
